Swartz Family Eyecare, LLC provides comprehensive vision and eye health examinations for all ages and specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide array of eye diseases and disorders. 

"We use advanced diagnostic technology and vision correction products and are committed to improving the quality of life of individuals in our community through enhanced vision," said Dr. Mariana Toplek-Swartz.  

A love of Optometry has always been present in the Swartz Family Eyecare practice. While attending The Ohio State University for Optometry, Mariana Toplek and Brent Swartz were blinded by love. They both graduated in 1994.

"We married after graduation and moved to Bellefontaine because my brother, the late Dr. Paul Toplek, had recently joined the community as an orthodontist, and we grew fond of the area," said Toplek-Swartz. 

Dr. Toplek-Swartz joined the optometric practice of the late Dr. Richard Stang in 1994. "Brent joined us in 1995, when we purchased the practice, located on North Main Street, from Dr. Stang." 

Richard continued to work part-time, allowing for an appreciated professional transition, until he retired after 49 years of providing eyecare to the community. 

"As our business grew, we required more space to better serve our patients," said Dr. Toplek-Swartz. "This led to building a new office in 2004 on Ewing Crawfis Circle, just off Sloan Blvd, which is Swartz Family Eyecare, LLC’s current location." 

Their practice has grown since then and many new patients often find Swartz Family Eyecare by word of mouth. 

"It is a great feeling to hear a new patient remark at the end of their exam that they had just received the most thorough eye examination they’ve ever had," said Dr. Toplek-Swartz. "We credit our whole team, each one of our staff, for providing an exceptional, personalized patient experience for each person who walks through our doors." 

It's no secret Swartz Family Eyecare consistently reaches above and beyond to care for their patient's eye health. 

"We utilize premier quality diagnostic instruments - beyond what is standard in optometry," said Dr. Toplek-Swartz. "We are continuously updating and adding new pieces of equipment to our practice so that we can stay at the cutting-edge of technology, allowing for state-of-the-art care." 

With this new technology, the Toplek-Swartz team can provide a variety of innovative and accurate eyecare techniques. 

"For example, we can streamline the flow of data from pre-test instruments into our exam rooms, where each exam lane is equipped with a new digital refractor, to allow for the most accurate and efficient vision test," said Dr. Toplek-Swartz. "We utilize high-quality images from our retinal scanner and camera to characterize and examine our patients' ocular health diseases and disorders more completely. We also have technology that allows for extensive external imaging of the eyes, important for providing evaluation and management of now more frequently encountered dry eye disease." 

Being new to the community, the Toplek-Swartz family decided to join the Logan County Chamber of Commerce back in 1995. "We wanted to be able to network with other businesses, establish new connections and to have access to the many outstanding business resources the Chamber offers," said Dr. Toplek-Swartz.
