MacGillvray, Estes & Harvey, LLP (MEH) has been named the Logan County Chamber's business of the month for the month of January.
MacGillvray, Estes & Harvey a general law practice made up of Linda MacGillivray, Jacob Estes and Greg Harvey. The team specifically provides legal services in the areas of Adoptions, Estate Planning, Real Estate, Criminal Defense, Juvenile Law, Guardianships, Guardian ad Litem, Civil Protection Orders, Probate Estates and Domestic Relations.
Between Linda, Jacob and Greg there is a combined 30 years of experience. All three partners started their careers in criminal justice; Linda and Greg as Assistant Prosecutors and Jacob as a Parole Officer. They use their expertise now to serve their clients. Linda dedicates her time to Probate and Estate Planning, while Jacob uses his insight in the areas of Criminal Defense and Domestic Relations. Greg concentrates his areas of practice in Criminal Defense.
MEH is tucked away on the 300th block of North Main Street in Bellefontaine.
"Many people don’t know this, but our office building was the home of Judge William Lawrence and is listed on the national Register of Historic Landmarks," said Linda. "It was built in 1861 and retains much of its original woodwork and an impressive floating staircase."
All three partners have close family ties to the area. Linda was born and raised in Bellefontaine and Jacob’s wife, Jennifer Boy, is a Bellefontaine native as well. Greg was raised in and still lives in Urbana.
The team at MEH is constantly receiving awards for the amazing work they do in the community. Jacob is rated as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers as well as Avvo's Clients Choice Award. Most recently, Jacob was awarded Logan County's Best Attorney. Linda has received awards from the Logan County Children's Services for her work as a Guardian ad Litem and Gregory was named in the top 10% of criminal attorney's in Ohio in 2019.
Since COVID-19 has hit, MEH has resorted to doing more of their consultations by phone. "We have even attended court hearings by zoom or telephone," said Linda. "We spend more time sanitizing our office and we have purchased air purifiers. Legal firms are considered 'essential,' so we have been able to maintain our office hours and provide services to our clients without interruption."
The main draw for MEH to be members of the Logan County Chamber was the variety of benefits the Chamber offers. They enjoy reaping the benefits of the pursuit of excellence programs, networking events (during a 'normal year'), and marketing opportunities.
"As a local partnership, we always want to support other local businesses as well and this is one of the best ways we know how," said Linda.
Please join us in congratulating MacGillvray, Estes and Harvey, LLC on becoming the Business of the Month for the month of January.
