September Business of the Month: AGC Automotive Americas

​With a rich history, a dedicated workforce, and a philosophy of always “looking beyond,” AGC Automotive Americas is a shining example of business excellence and a valued partner in our community. Celebrating 40 years of excellence in automotive glass manufacturing this year, AGC has become a cornerstone of innovation, quality, and community commitment in Logan County.

​AGC’s history in Logan County dates back to 1985 when 92+ acres was purchased in Bellefontaine, Ohio and AP Technoglass was incorporated. The incorporation was a joint venture between Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. and PPG Industries.

On September 18, 1985, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Bellefontaine site. Over the next year, the plant was constructed, equipment installed, and 150 associates were hired. The first windshield was manufactured on October 10, 1986, followed by tempered glass production on November 10, 1986. By December, the Bellefontaine facility was producing high-quality glass products for Honda of America, cementing its role as a trusted supplier.

​AGC Automotive Americas specializes in automotive safety glass, a critical component of vehicle safety. Its dedication to quality and innovation has made AGC a trusted supplier for major automotive manufacturers around the world. Over the years, the facility has expanded from 220,000 sq. ft. to more than 730,000 sq. ft., now operating as a 5–7 day, three-shift operation with over 500 associates.
