 The Logan County Area Safety Council is comprised of a diverse group of business representatives throughout Logan County and is designed to help businesses develop and maintain a safer workplace. This informative and educational program is being co-sponsored by the Logan County Area Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene.
Employers not enrolled in a group-experience-rating program can get a 2-percent participation rebate on their premium. To earn this rebate, employers must meet
program eligibility requirements including being an active participant of the Logan County Area/ BWC sponsored Safety Council. In addition, they can earn an additional 2-percent performance bonus rebate.
Group-experience-rating program employers who meet program eligibility requirements can earn a 2-percent performance bonus rebate. To earn this performance bonus, these employers must reduce either the severity or frequency of injuries in their workplace by 10 percent or maintain both at zero.
Many Logan County employers are currently taking advantage of this valued program, as well as benefiting from workers’ compensation premium savings by actively participating in the Logan County Area Safety Council. This is also a great networking opportunity for member businesses to share and compare safety concerns within their daily work environments too.

Two Hour Safety Training Webinars
CareWorks Consultants, Inc. and RiskControl360 are offering numerous two-hour safety trainings webinars throughout the 2011 policy year (July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012). Two hours of safety training is mandatory every policy year, per the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC), for all employers participating in a group rating or group retrospective plan who have experienced a workers’ compensation claim(s) within the two prior calendar years (January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010) regardless of the claim’s size or severity.
These trainings allow employers to stay informed about current workplace safety trends and regulatory developments, all from the convenience of their own business or home computer. We encourage people to take advantage of these web-based safety training opportunities that are being offered throughout the policy year.
